"Maggie's Mowing" is a personable filly that is ready for a new career. Trainer reports that she has “one speed, slow” and he knows it’s time to try and find her a new home as she’s not sharing any potential to go any further in her racing career. He reports that she’s a “princess” and in fact as the volunteers stood there she quite enjoyed the quick bath she received, standing quietly. She has good manners, is excellent under tack, and good stall manners. Her already dappled coat should look even better with some more groceries.

"The Big Ugly" is big, but not ugly! This lovely mare has appeared on our trainer listings before, but owner decided to keep her at his own farm. He approached us to list her again as he wants to find her a good home as he is unable to give her the attention she deserves. He reports to us that she is sound all around, and can be used for breeding or as a riding horse. He notes that she has been out from under tack for a little while, but with some training should go right back to riding again. The Big Ugly is known around the track as a great mare that could, in the words of one person, “jump the moon” and has had previous training on winters off from the track. She can be seen on the farm and is up-to-date on all shots.

Trainer reports that he got banged up a bit in his last race and just isn’t showing the potential or desire he needs to stick it out as a race horse. "Lil Ashley Girl" is a cute little compact girl! This very nice filly would make an excellent polo pony prospect with her tiny, compact build and brave attitude. According to her trainer she’s equally suitable to be a little girl’s horse; he was telling the volunteers about putting an inexperienced exercise rider on her and how she took care of her all the way around the track. This athletic girl is excellent to work around, but is sadly not making it on the track, trainer would “keep her if I could” but knows she’ll have a better live by retiring now.

"Mz Deanne J" is sweet mare that is ready to be someone’s 4H or Pony Club prospect! She couldn’t be any nicer; in fact she’s downright outgoing, as she immediately greeted the volunteer looking for some attention. Trainer reports that she’s an excellent keeper who loves being on the farm. So much so that she’s just not going to push her as a race horse. At 5 years old she still hasn’t won a race. She is ready to be loved on; trainer says that nothing gives her more happiness than getting lots and lots of attention. She’s also able to “jog all day” according to her trainer; it’s clear she loves going out and working. Trainer has had her since she was a baby and has taken very good care of her.

"Amanda B"...what can we say? Wow! This big daughter of Wheelaway makes quite the impression. Trainer reports that she’s a great filly to work with and a pleasure to be around, even calling her “sweetie pie” several times as we were talking with him. It’s clear to him that while sound, she doesn’t like racing and is just not going to show any promise as a racehorse, so he’d like to find her a new career now. Already a pro at being at the farm she should transition nicely into any new career.

"Peace Princess" is back in the listings again after another winter away from Suffolk Downs. Despite showing some tenacity as a race horse last year, trainer knows that she’s getting up in years for a race horse and wants to retire her sound now. She clearly sticks in people’s heads; as our volunteer was leaving the shed row a groom stopped her and said “that mare is about as sweet a horse as you’ll ever see!” Come check her out!

She has had him for a long time and has never had a major soundness problem.

Razzie is sound and ready for his new career; at 9 his career is winding down and his trainer wants to make sure he retires to a good home. He is definitely a must-see.

"Shirley's Law" is a very nice mare with great presence. Very attentive with a sweet face and good looks, trainer reports that she’s just not ready to continue on as a race horse. Trainer reports that she is a little stiff in her hind end, but thinks that should be resolved in regular turnout away from the deep sand of the Suffolk Down’s track. Although he says she’s a bit crabby in her race track stall, she sweetens up when she’s on the farm and is a pleasure to be around.

Allenda is very nicely bred—his sire Malibu Moon has produced some really athletic horses lately, in fact his fillies finished first and third in a graded stake at Belmont in the past couple of weeks...sadly for his connections, Allenda’s Moon isn't in this league and is simply not making it at the track. Trainer doesn’t want to push him too hard; reports that he is a very nice horse to work with and has no vices or problems.

Dream Boy has been training for his return to the races this year, but is showing some signs that his suspensory might not be up to the strenuous demands of racing. Rather than push him and cause him injury, his trainer would like to find him a home now. Dream Boy screams tons of potential in lower level activities. He was at the farm all winter and the trainer reports that he is a gentleman on the farm, great to work with, a true dream for the farrier and will “jump on your trailer”. Dream Boy is a smart horse who would make a great horse for anyone with his A+ personality and looks.
