T11-3217-10. TRAINER-OWNED GELDING, "Real Gentleman"

"Real Gentleman" is a 5-year-old, 15.3h bay gelding

Looking for a great jumping prospect? Check out Real Gentleman, or Tommy, as he's known around the barn, in this video showing off his lovely moves. Retired from racing last fall when he seemed to lose interest in the game, Real Gentleman has recently started going over low jumps, and is taking to his new training with zeal! Trainer reports he's sound, and well behaved. He trailers, and can be ridden in indoor rings, fields, and paddocks. At this point, he's best suited to an intermediate rider, although, with some work, he could fit someone who's more of a beginner. Owner is very concerned that Real Gentleman goes to a forever home -- he'd like to see this sweet gelding connect with a rider who's committed.

Real Gentleman can be seen at the farm in Londonderry, NH. Price is $2500, negotiable to the right home. Contact trainer Jacqueline Falk at 508 633-4668 or golbear@hotmail.com.

***SOLD***T11-3218-11. TRAINER-OWNED GELDING, "Wha Youdoin"

"Wha Youdoin"
is a 5 year old, 16H bay gelding

As a foal Wha Youdoin would often run over to inspect visitors to his paddock with an inquisitive look, and from that natural curiosity his registered name appeared.

Trainer has had this horse his entire life and reports that he’s always been a bit of a ham; always wanting to be the center of attention when people are around. He explains that he’s just not showing promise as a racehorse so would like to see him retire.

Wha Youdoin has an old ankle injury he suffered while in the trailer; trainer reports that it has never been tapped and he has been racing sound on it. It’s clear that this handsome guy will be quite the star in his barn; he’s always thinking and is smart and sensible. Should transition nicely into farm life.

T11-3216-10. TRAINER-OWNED GELDING, "Clever Chris"

"Clever Chris"
is a 4 year old, 15h bay gelding

Check out this cute little guy! Can’t you just see him toting around a kid? Volunteers fell for this charming guy the minute we saw him in his stall; he looks like a pocket pony! Trainer reports that he is sound and great to work with but would like to find him a home rather than keep him over the winter. Clever Chris was in a race the day we took his listing and he couldn’t have been calmer, eagerly looking for attention from the volunteers—he went on to get a second! When jogged for the volunteers he looked like he was in a western pleasure class displaying a low, long true jog.

"Help Me to Help U"

Good things come in small packages! This compact filly would make an excellent addition to any barn; trainer reports that she is sound but will simply not be competitive at the Florida tracks. Volunteers liked her very sweet disposition; and her breeding has some interesting names, including Deputy Minister and Cherokee Run; two names who have consistently shown up in some of the classier horses we’ve seen. Trainer notes that she is sound and excellent to work with.

If you are looking for a horse that screams “class” this is the horse for you. This gelding has won over $200K in his career, and now that the racing season is over his trainer would like to see his career as a racehorse end as well. King’s Coronation is sound and showed a very nice jog for the volunteers; his trainer says he is great to ride and exceptionally easy to work with. With his calm and easy-going temperament they considered training him to be a pony horse but would rather see him find a good home now. Available to see on the farm.

"Scorpita"
5yo 16.1h dk. bay mare

If you like classic hunter looks this mare is for you! Our volunteers fell in love with Scorpita’s classic good looks and immediately pictured her out on a foxhunt. Trainer reports that although Scorpita has done well for them this year at Suffolk she just won’t be competitive when they move their stable to New York for the winter so they want to make sure she finds a good retirement home now. ***SOLD***T11-3207-10. TRAINER-OWNED GELDING, Grand Terror

"Grand Terror"
4yo 16.3h dk. bay gelding

As we were walking to Grand Terror’s stall his trainer described him as “big!” and that’s certainly your first impression when you meet him!

This guy has a big presence to go along with his big shoulder and big boned build; but he’s anything but the “terror” his name suggests.

Grand Terror has had a rather successful career his two years on the track beginning his career at Belmont and Saratoga and winning over $58K. But, according to his trainer, he simply isn’t showing any interest in racing anymore and wants to retire him rather than winter him and try to bring him back next year. His groom reports that he’s excellent to work with and the volunteers loved his sweet personality; even if he wanted to do anything but look at the camera for his picture! With his blue-blood pedigree it’s clear you’ll get a class horse in Grand Terror.

T11-3206-10. TRAINER-OWNED MARE, "Candles onthe Wind"

"Candles onthe Wind"
4yo 15.1h bay mare

Check this lovely mare out! Candles onthe Wind boasts a very interesting pedigree and lots of athleticism and speed according to her trainer.

Unfortunately, what she does lack is the ability to hold that speed at a distance, which is why her trainer is looking to find her a new home now that we’re at the end of the meet.

This mare boats a quick acceleration which would make her an excellent polo mount, but she has the good movement that would make her a star in the hunter ring as well.

Volunteers liked her sweet personality and obvious good manners. We could certainly see her with a junior rider doing games!

Trainer reports that he is excellent to work with and has no vices; but is showing some wear and won't hold up to the demands of racing anymore. Senior Bensalem should excel in a less strenuous career and with his flashy looks is sure to make an impression wherever he goes. With some time off he should make anyone a great new riding horse and will certainly be the favorite of his next barn.

Trainer reports that he's "very cool and very slow" which makes him a bad racehorse but an excellent riding prospect. He displayed tons of personality and will clearly excel with a person who can give him lots of attention; he is naturally curious and loved hearing the camera click while we were taking his picture. Trainer reports that he's great on the track; "like riding a couch!" ***SOLD***T11-3073-08. TRAINER-OWNED MARE, "Easy Polly"

"Easy Polly" is a 5 year old, 16.1H bay mare

This sweetheart of a filly has an excellent disposition and according to her regular exercise rider is very easy going and great to ride; she reports that she's always willing and eager to please her rider.

Polly is ready to retire from the track as she isn't quite holding up to the high demands any longer, she has a slight ligament issue but her radiographs are clear and she should be fine with a few months off and a less-stressful career. Once she has some rest her prognosis is quite good.

With good size and nice movement she would make an excellent addition to any barn.

(Polly is such a sweetie that one of our longtime volunteers made a point to visit her EVERY TIME she was at the track! She is a LOVE BUG, and if you are looking for a horse that is simply a pleasure to be around, she is it!)

In My Chamber is clearly a good natured and personable gelding, another person in the barn couldn't help but chime in when we were taking his listing to gush about his personality. He clearly loves his food; his trainer reports that he loves doughnuts and kept on moving forward to the grass when we were taking his picture! His exercise rider reports that he's an absolute dream to ride and a beautiful mover. We could easily see In My Chamber as an excellent dressage prospect; his trainer reports that he is not a candidate for high-level jumping due to a previous sesamoid surgery.

"Jaftjam" is a 4 year old, 16.2h bay gelding

Jaftjam screams class and it's not hard to see why; a quick look at his pedigree reveals he was sired by Preakness winner Louis Quatorze and the great Alydar on his dam's side. His trainer had nothing but good things to say about him, reporting that he is 100% sound and that he'll guarantee that whoever takes him home will be satisfied! It's not hard to picture Jaftjam in the show ring with his classic looks, balanced build and shiny coat; his trainer couldn't say enough about how nice he looks under tack. It's clear that he is an athlete as well; trainer says he loves mud and will gallop all day long. He has a curious nature and was quite the charmer to the volunteers. Trainer is regrettably selling as he just isn't showing the desire to be a race horse any longer, coming in at the back of the back in several of his recent races. Definitely a horse that needs to be seen in person.

Trainer reports that while she has no soundness issues she just isn't running as well as he'd like her to and clearly isn't happy running on the track at Suffolk. He is looking to cut his string in anticipation of the end of the meet and would like to see her go to a good home. This tiny firecracker of a filly is utterly adorable with her markings, dappled coat, and curious nature. Trainer reports that while Julia has done well for herself in her short career -- earning over $18K -- she just can't hold up to the demands of racing anymore and is showing some issues with her knee. X-rays are available to see and her prognosis is good once she moves on to a less strenuous career. Trainer reports that she has a floating chip in her knee x-rays are available to see and the vets have given her a good prognosis as a riding horse once the chip is removed -- the only thing keeping the trainer from removing it is the fact that her racing career is winding down and it is not worth the investment at her age. This chestnut filly is quite flashy and will be sure to make an impression wherever she goes, especially the show ring. Trainer is retiring her because she has a slightly offset knee that is causing her some problems with the high-intensity of racing.

She is unraced, and trainer doesn't want to push her and cause any long term serious issues with her so she'd like her to retire now. X-rays of her knee are available for viewing and both vets who have seen her agree that her prognosis is good as a lower level hunter.

Trainer thinks that Avalon Angel would do best with an experienced junior rider who can give her lots of love and attention; it's clear with her personality and disposition that she'd be an excellent friend for her new owner.

This super sweet gelding is looking for a less-stressful career. He is very docile and laid-back but likes to have a job -- he was loving all the attention he was getting from the CANTER volunteers.

A good home is a must for this guy. $500. Jodi (304) 491-1094.

Trainer reports that x-rays are available to view and she is currently on stall rest and recuperating. When we arrived at the barn to take his photos he'd just come back from a race -- you never would have known!
