You will be required to sign a Lifetime Bill of Sale Adoption Agreement at the time of adoption. The adopted horse may never race again. Follow-up farm visits may be performed if deemed necessary by CANTER. Although you are allowed to sell, lease or transfer an adoptively placed horse in the future (only after CANTER has approved the new home through the standard approval process), the Lifetime Bill of Sale Adoption Agreement remains in effect for the lifetime of the horse and all new owners are bound by the conditions of this agreement. The Lifetime Bill of Sale Adoption Agreement requires, among other things, that CANTER be provided with a right of first refusal in the event of transfer of this horse, and requires approval and notification in writing of the new owner. CANTER New England requires that ANY and ALL prospective new owners be approved by us prior to agreeing to the transfer of ownership of any adoptively placed horse.
